Yockenthwaite is a tiny Yorkshire Dales hamlet in Upper Wharfedale, reached via the narrow B6160 through Kettlewell. The single-track road demands careful driving as it follows the River Wharfe between steep limestone fells. Most visitors arrive on the classic Dales touring route, with the ancient packhorse bridge being the main draw - a perfectly preserved stone arch that's carried travelers across the Wharfe for over 400 years.
