Whitehouse Upper
Ireland
Ireland
Whitehouse Upper occupies Belfast's northern fringe where the city meets Belfast Lough, forming part of Newtownabbey district about 5km from the city centre. The A2 Antrim Road provides the main access route, hugging the lough shore and connecting to the M2 for longer journeys to Antrim or the Causeway Coast. George Best Belfast City Airport sits just across the water, whilst over 150 EV charging points serve the greater Belfast area. The district's name derives from a distinctive white house that historically served as a navigation landmark for vessels entering Belfast Lough.
