White-le-Head occupies a spot in Durham's former mining heartland, reached via the A692 from Newcastle or the A1(M) Junction 63. The A693 provides connections to Stanley and Consett, whilst over 300 fast EV chargers serve the area. The village lies close to the Tanfield Railway, reputedly the world's oldest existing railway with sections from 1725.
