Whinnyfold

Scotland

Scotland

Whinnyfold perches on Aberdeenshire's dramatic coastline northeast of Aberdeen, reached via the A90 and A975 through Ellon. This tiny clifftop fishing village sits near Cruden Bay, surrounded by some of Scotland's most spectacular coastal scenery including the ruins of Slains Castle. The village's most remarkable feature is its row of traditional fishermen's cottages built directly into the cliff face, with some back walls carved from solid rock.
