Whashton is a small Yorkshire Dales village on the A66 between Richmond and Barnard Castle. Reached via the A1(M) through Richmond or directly from the A66, it sits in Swaledale countryside surrounded by stone-walled fields. The village retains its character as a former coaching stop with 18th-century stone cottages lining the main street.
