West Wellow lies in Hampshire countryside between Southampton and the New Forest, reached via the A36 which runs directly through the village. Most arrive from Southampton, about 10 kilometers southeast, or use the M27 connections roughly 8 kilometers south. The area serves as a gateway to New Forest exploration, with good EV charging infrastructure nearby. Florence Nightingale is buried in the village churchyard at St Margaret's Church.
