Watson is a farming town of 200 people in western Minnesota, connected by Highway 40 to Montevideo (12 miles east) and Appleton (8 miles west). Longer trips use US 212 through Montevideo to reach the Twin Cities. The historic grain elevator still operates and dominates the small downtown skyline.
