Watendlath

Watendlath occupies a remote Lake District valley, reached by a challenging single-track road from Keswick via the B5289. The narrow mountain lane demands careful driving with steep gradients and limited passing places. Most visitors make the 20-minute journey from Keswick as a day trip, though the difficult access keeps crowds manageable. The hamlet centres on a small tarn and features a perfectly preserved 16th-century packhorse bridge.
