Vats-houll is a small village on Whalsay island, reached by ferry from Laxo on Shetland Mainland. The 25-minute crossing brings you to Symbister, then it's 5km along the island's coastal road. Most visitors arrive via the A970 from Lerwick. The village sits close to Whalsay's grass airstrip, used mainly for emergency medical flights.
