Wrightsville Beach is a barrier island resort town just 15 minutes east of Wilmington via US 74/76 and a drawbridge over Banks Channel. The narrow four-mile island sits between the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway, accessible from I-40 or I-95 through Wilmington. The town features one of North Carolina's last remaining oceanfront fishing piers, stretching 700 feet into the Atlantic.
