Willamina, OR

Willamina is a small timber town in Yamhill County, reached via Highway 18 about 60 miles southwest of Portland. The main route runs east to McMinnville and west to Lincoln City, winding through forested hills typical of Oregon's Coast Range foothills. The town of 2,200 sits in a river valley surrounded by Douglas fir forests and maintains strong ties to the lumber industry that built it in the early 1900s. The historic 1920s movie theater still operates with its original hand-painted ceiling murals.
