White Deer, TX

White Deer is a small Texas Panhandle town of 1,200 people located 30 miles northeast of Amarillo on US Highway 60. The agricultural community sits amid wheat fields and cattle ranches on the High Plains. Most visitors arrive via US 60 from Amarillo or use Interstate 40 to reach the area. The town gets its name from a legendary white deer spotted by early settlers.
