Waterloo anchors northeastern Iowa's Cedar Valley along I-380, about an hour north of Cedar Rapids. The city connects to Cedar Falls via University Avenue, forming a single metro area. Most visitors use I-380 from the south or US-20 from east and west. Waterloo Regional Airport sits 8 miles northwest of downtown.
