Ward is a tiny rural community of 260 people in Saluda County, about 30 miles southwest of Columbia via I-26 and local roads. The area features rolling farmland and pine forests typical of South Carolina's midlands. Ward sits along the old Charleston and Western Carolina Railway line that once connected this part of the county to larger cities.
