Virgil, IL

Virgil is a tiny Kane County community of about 300 people, sitting 45 miles west of Chicago in farm country along the Fox River valley. Take I-88 west to Farnsworth Avenue, then head north on local roads, or use scenic Route 31 that runs through the valley. Most visitors are weekend escapees from Chicago, while locals commute to Aurora or Elgin. The historic 1870s one-room brick schoolhouse still stands as a testament to the area's farming roots.
