Tunnelton is a small Preston County community of about 400 people in the West Virginia hills along the Cheat River. Located on US Route 50, it's about 30 miles from Morgantown via US 119 north. The town gets its name from the 1850s railroad tunnel that workers blasted through nearly half a mile of solid rock.
