Thunderbolt is a small riverside city just southeast of Savannah, positioned perfectly between Georgia's historic port city and the popular Tybee Island beaches. US Highway 80 runs right through town, making it a natural stop for both Savannah commuters and beach-bound tourists. The Savannah airport is about 20 miles northwest via I-95.
