Tampico is a small farming town in northwestern Illinois, about 20 miles southeast of the Quad Cities. Take I-88 to Exit 36, then head north on Route 172 straight into town. Most long-distance visitors come from Chicago (100 miles) or the Quad Cities, while locals use Route 172 to reach Sterling and Rock Falls. Ronald Reagan was born here in 1911 above a variety store on Main Street.
