Sunset Valley is a tiny city of 814 people completely surrounded by Austin in Travis County. Located about 10 miles southwest of downtown Austin, it connects via South Lamar Boulevard and sits near the intersection of Highway 71 and MoPac Expressway. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is 12 miles southeast. The community occupies just over four square miles of rolling Hill Country terrain with limestone outcrops and live oaks. City hall operates from a modest single-story building that perfectly captures this small enclave's character within the booming Austin metro.
