Smiths Station, AL

Smiths Station is a small city in eastern Alabama near the Georgia border, connected mainly by State Route 51 and close to US 280. Most visitors arrive via short regional drives from Auburn (15 miles) or Columbus, Georgia. The rolling Piedmont hills and pine forests create typical southeastern scenery with hot summers and mild winters. The town was named after a 19th-century railroad depot established by the Smith family, with traces of its rail heritage still visible today.
