Shellman is a small farming town in southwest Georgia, reached via State Route 37 from US Highway 82. Most visitors drive from Albany (35 miles northeast) or connect through Cuthbert when traveling between I-75 and points west. The town was incorporated in 1906 and named after merchant W.S. Shellman, whose general store anchored the original community.
