Shelby, MS

Shelby is a small Delta farming town in Bolivar County, reached via Highway 8 from Cleveland (15 miles northwest) or Indianola (25 miles southwest). The area's flat cotton and soybean fields stretch endlessly under the humid subtropical climate typical of Mississippi's river bottom country. The town's water tower proudly displays "Home of the Wildcats," visible for miles across the Delta's pancake-flat terrain.
