Sharon is a tiny rural community in east-central Georgia, reachable via State Route 80 from Interstate 20 near Thomson. Most visitors come from Augusta (45 miles) or make the two-hour drive from Atlanta. The area features rolling Piedmont countryside with farms and pine forests. Sharon's post office has operated continuously since 1851, making it one of Georgia's oldest rural postal facilities still in service.
