Salem is a small Utah Valley city about 10 miles south of Provo, accessible via I-15 Exit 252 and Highway 198. The area sits at 4,600 feet elevation between the Wasatch Mountains and Utah Lake, with typical high desert weather. Most traffic comes from nearby Provo and Spanish Fork, while the Frontrunner rail connection in Spanish Fork links residents to the broader Salt Lake area. The town still has its original 1851 pioneer flour mill.
