Rocklin is a foothills city 25 miles northeast of Sacramento, accessible via Interstate 80 and Highway 65. The area features rolling granite hills and a Mediterranean climate. Popular routes include I-80 west to Sacramento for commuting and east toward Lake Tahoe for recreation. The city's granite quarries from the 1860s provided stone for California's State Capitol building.
