Rippey is a tiny farming town in west-central Iowa, about 45 miles northwest of Des Moines via Highway 4 and local roads. Most folks reach it from I-35 through Ames, then west on back roads through corn country. The historic grain elevator dominates the skyline and serves as a landmark visible for miles across the flat prairie.
