Ridgefield sits across the Hudson River from Manhattan in Bergen County, offering easy access to New York City via the George Washington Bridge just 15 minutes south on I-95. Route 5 runs through town as the main local road, while I-80 provides the primary western approach for long-distance travelers. Newark Liberty International Airport is 25 miles southwest, and Teterboro Airport is only 8 miles south. The borough's Recreation Center still has its original 1930s wooden gym floor, one of the few remaining in New Jersey.
