Pomona Park is a small riverfront town of 755 people along the St. Johns River in central Florida, about an hour from both Jacksonville and Gainesville. US Highway 17 runs right through town, connecting it to Palatka and points south toward Ocala National Forest. The town features one of Florida's last hand-operated drawbridges from the 1920s that still opens manually for river traffic.
