Palmer is a small Texas city of 2,500 people located 45 miles south of Dallas via Interstate 45. The town sits in Ellis County's rolling prairie country, connected by I-45 to both Dallas and Houston, plus State Highway 34 running east-west to Ennis. Most visitors use the direct I-45 route, while locals rely on farm roads threading through the agricultural landscape. The restored 1883 railroad depot downtown now houses the city museum.
