Okeene is a wheat farming town of 1,200 people in northwestern Oklahoma, reached via US Highway 412 about 90 miles from Oklahoma City. The town sits in rolling prairie country where grain elevators tower over modest downtown streets. Most visitors arrive on US 412 from Enid (30 miles east) or continue west toward Kansas. Okeene is the birthplace of Yankees pitcher Allie Reynolds, who won six World Series titles.
