Oelrichs, SD

Oelrichs is a tiny ranching community in southwestern South Dakota, just 15 miles from Nebraska on US Highway 18. With under 200 residents, it sits in rolling prairie country between Hot Springs (25 miles northeast) and the Wyoming border. The town connects to Rapid City via US 18 and local highways, about 90 miles total. Named after a New York financier who invested in local cattle operations during the 1890s, Oelrichs maintains its ranching roots today.
