Newport, NC

Newport is a small coastal town in eastern North Carolina, positioned between the beaches and inland forests of Carteret County. US Highway 70 is the main route through town, connecting to Morehead City and Crystal Coast beaches eastward, and New Bern to the west. State Route 24 links south to Jacksonville and Camp Lejeune. The town houses the research facility for the North Carolina Maritime Museum, where artifacts from Blackbeard's flagship Queen Anne's Revenge are preserved.
