New Augusta is a small county seat in southeastern Mississippi, located about 20 miles northeast of Hattiesburg on Highway 29. Most visitors arrive via I-59 to Hattiesburg, then take Highway 29 through pine forest country. The town sits at the geographic center of Perry County and serves as a quiet stopover between the Gulf Coast and central Mississippi.
