Nehawka is a tiny farming community in southeastern Nebraska, about 30 miles south of Omaha via Highway 50. With just over 100 residents, it sits among corn and soybean fields between the Platte and Missouri rivers. Most visitors arrive on Highway 50 from Louisville or connect from Highway 34 near Lincoln. The town's name comes from an Otoe Indian word meaning "rustling water."
