Highway 13 runs right through town, connecting to Rifle 42 miles south via scenic Piceance Creek Canyon, and Craig 90 miles north. Most visitors arrive from Denver via I-70 to Rifle, then north on Highway 13. The historic Meeker Hotel on Main Street, built in 1896, once hosted President Teddy Roosevelt during his hunting trips.
