Magnet, NE

Magnet is a tiny farming town in northeast Nebraska's Cedar County, accessible via Highway 84 about 20 miles southwest of Hartington. The main routes include Highway 15 from Laurel and connections to US-20 through Hartington for longer trips to Sioux City. The town sits in rolling agricultural country where corn and soybean fields dominate the landscape. Magnet got its unusual name from a local magnetic anomaly that once caused compass needles to behave strangely.
