Magdalena, NM

Magdalena is a small ranching town in New Mexico's high desert, sitting along US Highway 60 about 27 miles west of Socorro. Most visitors arrive from Albuquerque via I-25 south to Socorro, then US 60 west through open rangeland. The town serves as the last fuel stop before the Very Large Array radio telescope facility. Magdalena was once a major cattle shipping point where cowboys drove herds to waiting trains.
