Mackay, ID

Mackay is a small ranching town of 600 people in central Idaho's Lost River Valley, surrounded by mountain ranges on both sides. US Highway 93 runs right through town, connecting north to Salmon and south toward Sun Valley, while State Highway 22 heads west to Mackay Reservoir. Most visitors come for hunting and fishing access to the nearby wilderness areas, though EV charging is very limited in this remote location. The area regularly records some of the coldest temperatures in the continental United States.
