Lorena is a small Texas town of about 1,500 people located 15 miles south of Waco along Highway 6. The main route connects north to Waco and south toward College Station, with Interstate 35 accessible about 10 miles east for longer trips to Austin or Dallas. The town sits in rolling Blackland Prairie country with cotton fields and scattered oak groves, and operates its own volunteer fire department that doubles as a community hub.
