Log Cabin is a small East Texas town of about 1,000 people in Henderson County, roughly 75 miles southeast of Dallas. Most visitors drive I-20 East to Exit 589, then take Highway 64 north for 10 miles. The town sits among pine forests and small lakes in rolling countryside. It's named after an actual log cabin that served as the area's first post office in the 1850s, built by settler James Campbell.
