Lodgepole is a farming town of 223 people in western Nebraska's Panhandle, sitting on US Highway 30 about 15 miles from Colorado. The main routes are US 30 east-west and Highway 385 connecting south to I-80. Most traffic heads to Sidney for services or uses I-80 for longer trips. The town's towering grain elevator serves as a prairie landmark visible for miles.
