Leland, MS

Leland sits in Mississippi's Delta region along Highway 82, about 20 miles northwest of Greenville. Most visitors reach town via US Highway 61 from Memphis (130 miles north) or Highway 82 from Jackson area. The flat Delta farmland stretches endlessly around town, broken by cotton fields and catfish ponds. Leland proudly claims to be Kermit the Frog's birthplace, honoring Muppet creator Jim Henson who grew up here.
