Kooskia, ID

Kooskia is a small timber town of 687 people in north-central Idaho where two forks of the Clearwater River meet. Highway 12 connects it east to Missoula (75 miles) and west to Lewiston (110 miles), while Route 13 heads north to Grangeville (40 miles). The Syringa General Store has operated since 1979 and still features an old-fashioned soda fountain.
