Kasaan is a tiny Native village on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska, reachable only by small plane from Ketchikan or by boat. Forest Service Road 30 connects it to other island communities like Thorne Bay and Craig via unpaved routes. The village of 51 people sits among dense rainforests with year-round wet weather.
