Kaleva, MI

Kaleva is a small Finnish-heritage town in northwestern Michigan with 542 residents, located about 15 miles inland from Lake Michigan. Reach it via US-31 from the coast or US-10 to US-131 from Grand Rapids. The area offers extensive forest recreation with snowmobile trails and hiking. Founded by Finnish immigrants in the early 1900s, Kaleva hosts an annual Finnish-American Folk Festival celebrating its Nordic roots.
