Jemez Springs, NM

Jemez Springs is a tiny mountain village of 284 people nestled in a geothermal canyon along the Jemez River. Take Highway 4 west from Highway 550 near Bernalillo for the main route, or create a scenic loop from Santa Fe through Los Alamos. The village sits at 6,200 feet surrounded by national forest. You can still see the original stone walls of a 16th-century Spanish mission built on ancient pueblo ruins.
