Jansen is a tiny farming town of 123 people in southern Nebraska, 15 miles southwest of Fairbury via Highway 8. Most visitors arrive from Fairbury or connect through Beatrice on US-136. The town keeps its original 1880s railroad-era street layout from when the Rock Island line first brought settlers to this corner of the prairie.
