Idanha, OR

Idanha is a tiny Cascade foothills community of 200 people along the North Santiam River, about 45 miles east of Salem via winding Highway 22. Former logging town surrounded by dense forest where the river cuts through a narrow valley. The route continues east toward mountain recreation areas, making it a waypoint for outdoor enthusiasts. The historic 1910 Idanha Hotel, a three-story wooden structure that once housed logging crews, dominates the small downtown.
