Hitchita is a tiny community of 40 people in eastern Oklahoma's McIntosh County, accessible via State Highway 75 from Henryetta (15 miles south) or Okmulgee (20 miles north). From Tulsa, it's about 60 miles south on Highway 75. The town sits in former Creek Nation territory among rolling hills dotted with oil pumps and cattle ranches. Its 1902 post office remains the community's main gathering spot.
