Henning, TN

Henning is a small farming town in northwestern Tennessee, about 50 miles northeast of Memphis. State Route 87 runs through town and connects to US Highway 51, the main north-south route to Dyersburg and Memphis. The town of nearly 1,000 sits in fertile Mississippi River valley farmland. Henning is the boyhood home of "Roots" author Alex Haley, whose family house still stands on Haley Avenue.
